A car that suits your lifestyle

Many people want a car that suits all the different aspects of their lifestyle.  It’s not just to get them to work and to take the kids to school. A car also needs to fit with what you do at the weekend, with or without the family.
Of course, if you have a family, you’ll need a family car.  Up until relatively recently, that meant upgrading to an estate – and the only noticeable difference between that and most of the other cars on the road was the huge boot space.  Nowadays, of course, there are many models that are clearly designed for families, with an array of seat combinations and flexible boot space.
Today, part of your requirements for a car may also be its green credentials. Many family cars today are also environmentally friendly, with impressively low carbon dioxide emissions and improved fuel-efficiency.
You can choose to be even more eco-friendly by choosing a hybrid.  Hybrids are great on fuel economy as the engine is assisted by an electric motor.  The electric motor is charged through a process called regenerative braking – when the driver brakes, excess kinetic energy is stored in the electric motor’s battery. Then, when the engine needs to accelerate or work harder – for example, when climbing a hill, the electric motor assists it and reduces the amount of fuel the engine needs to burn.  In so doing, the car also produces fewer emissions than a conventional car doing the same journey.
There have been so many advances in the car manufacturing industry that even some 4×4 cars that are not hybrids now qualify as low emissions vehicles. And they’re probably the most practical vehicles for people who enjoy going off the beaten track to do mountain biking and camping.
So, it’s true, it is possible to find a car that meets all your different requirements in life. It’s just a question of finding one that suits your budget, too.
